Drift of Mist

Drift of Mist grew out of the focused, sometimes unpredictable rhythm of painting. I work to quiet the noise around me and trust what happens on the surface. Color moves, gathers, and changes as I paint; the work begins to find its direction when I give it my full attention.

I painted the original in egg tempera, layering fine pigments to build its luminous color and delicate grain. Deep Prussian blue and Venetian red meet orange ochre, softened sky blue, and creamy white. Printed on textured fine-art paper, the reproduction invites a closer look at those shifts in color and surface.
